The EUIPO has published a ‘Comparative Case Study on Alternative Resolution Systems for Domain Name Disputes’, which compares the likely outcomes of 10 selected dispute resolution systems for 11 pre-defined case scenarios. The study includes input from expert panellists in the respective dispute resolution systems, with a view to identifying key points of similarity and difference, according to the different possible outcomes, as well as to compare and contrast the key characteristics of each dispute resolution system; procedures, fees, duration and case statistics. Ultimately, the study aims to provide more clarity for IP rights holders, domain name stakeholders and policymakers regarding the different characteristics of the dispute resolution systems analysed.
