The European Commission has published a roadmap on the Intellectual Property (IP) action plan in order to effectively protect and manage the intellectual property of its citizens.
This roadmap is open for feedback for 5 weeks from 10 July – 14 August 2020. Feedback will be taken into account for further development and fine tuning of the initiative.
The Commission intends to explore ways to:
- upgrade the system for IP protection
- promote a better uptake and deployment of IP
- promote better licensing and sharing of IP-protected assets
- fight IP theft
- promote a global fair play
Roadmaps aim to inform citizens and stakeholders about the Commission’s work in order to allow them to provide feedback and to participate effectively in future consultation activities. Citizens and stakeholders are in particular invited to provide views on the Commission’s understanding of the problem and possible solutions and to make available any relevant information that they may have.
The roadmap can be downloaded on the EC website.
