• Spanish scientist Margarita Salas Falgueras wins Popular Prize and is also honoured in the “Lifetime achievement” category for her pioneering work in genetics and molecular biology
• Klaus Feichtinger and Manfred Hackl (Austria), Jérôme Galon (France), Akira Yoshino (Japan) and Rik Breur (Netherlands) are winners in the other four categories

Most criminal activity involving counterfeiting is carried out by increasingly professionalised organised crime networks, which can reap large profits while running few risks.

This is according to the first EU-wide intellectual property crime threat assessment by Europol and the EUIPO published on June 12 2019 during the International Forum on IP Enforcement in Paris, a forward-looking strategic analysis building on two previous joint situation reports on counterfeiting and piracy. • À l’échelle de l’UE, les pertes représentent 7,4 % du montant total des ventes dans les secteurs étudiés.
• Au Luxembourg, le préjudice annuel est estimé à près de 71 millions d’euros pour les 11 secteurs concernés.
• Le manque à gagner pour le Luxembourg est évalué à 6,2 % de l’ensemble des ventes dans les 11 secteurs en question.

Au Luxembourg, le manque à gagner annuel dû à la contrefaçon et au piratage est estimé à 71 millions d’euros, ce qui équivaut à 6,2 % des ventes dans ces 11 secteurs.
Selon l’analyse, la valeur totale du manque à gagner en termes de ventes s’élève à 123 euros par citoyen luxembourgeois et par an. […]
