Catalyst technology is becoming increasingly significant in the energy and environment sectors. New techniques for identifying catalysts, which accelerate chemical reactions in chemical manufacturing processes, allow researchers to prepare and test myriad potential new catalyst materials at an unprecedented rate. That means new avenues for producing cleaner fuels, such as diesel fuels from higher-impurity feedstocks and renewable fuels. Cutting-edge research into these new catalysts continues to mature and will have a huge impact on the way we produce energy, power vehicles and tackle climate change.

In collaboration with the European Commission (DG Trade), the European Observatory has created an Anti-Counterfeiting Rapid Intelligence System (ACRIS) to bring together in one database all data relating to cases of intellectual property rights’ infringement affecting EU companies in countries outside the EU. It is intended to serve as a single information point for both European businesses and authorities.

Full refunds for cases withdrawn before examination
From today, 1 July 2016, applicants will be able to enjoy a 100% refund on their examination fee for any application they withdraw, or which is refused or deemed withdrawn, before substantive examination has begun. Previously such refunds were limited to just 75% of the fee.

Twitter has become indispensable for many businesses.
